The Prospect Heights Vol. Fire Co. is the first fire company that was established in Ewing Township, NJ in 1909. It is one of three fire companies that protect a population of 36,000 within 15.6 square miles.
Over 60+ active volunteers support the firematic and business functions of the Prospect Heights Vol. Fire Co. 24/7/365. The Fire Company is led by a volunteer fire chief and president and have additional fire officers and table officers supporting them. The Fire Company also has 3 career firefighters that are Ewing Township employees supporting the volunteer firefighters working 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday-Friday. On the fireground, the career firefighters are led by the on-scene fire officer and off the fireground, are led by a career captain who is one of 8 career firefighters in Ewing Township.
